Its predecessor (Sharp FV-L1) was sold only in Japan two years prior to Digital DJ's unsuccessful attempt at digital RDS subscription based service in the US. Each radio (I have both) had an internal FM antenna and AM ferrite rod antenna built into the device - which performed magnificently on FM, FM Stereo and Medium Wave (AM) broadcast bands. The FV-L1 (1995) was of course manufactured for 9 KHz steps,.. While the DRW-V2 (1997) was made using the standard 10 KHz tuning increments. I've thought about putting some intelligence in the script to accommodate strong locals (something like "if FREQ=1400 then make mode USB" to avoid lower sideband splatter from 1390). That will be in the next rev of the script :-)Brett Saylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15733210101271202483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5166083751384200662.post-45003881494547282092012-09-12T00:06:02.463-05:002012-09-12T00:06:02.463-05:00Very impressive, Brett! Now, how do you know whether to use USB, or LSB, or AM depending on how close the domestics are?...WaltUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05360815608121787134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5166083751384200662.post-20200188677663830912010-08-10T03:33:41.064-05:002010-08-10T03:33:41.064-05:00I think it's a great example of the nexus betw...I think it's a great example of the nexus between radio and computers, albeit one that never succeeded in the marketplace. But we can learn from failures, too.
IT Support Van Nuysmarktaylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03396431246481243410noreply@blogger.com
